This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A virtual inspection was initiated by on August 24, 2020 and a desk review of information submitted was conducted on August 24, 2020 and completed on August 27, 2020. The head of school was contacted by telephone to initiate the remote inspection. There were no children present and five staff. The inspector emailed the head of school a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector viewed the newly constructed preschool classrooms, bathrooms and the outdoor sport court and the planned area of the unfinished preschool playground during a video call. All supporting documents for the newly constructed wing of the school were submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. There was no request to change the licensed capacity which will remain at fifty for the licensed programs. The new space is approved for use when school reopens on August 31, 2020.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
