Comments:
An unannounced monitoring visit was completed on 06/30/2022. The inspector was on site from 10:50am until 12:15pm.
There were 114 children under the care of 43 staff members. The children's ages ranged form 5 months to 5 years old. The children were observed during outdoor play and meal times. Five children's records and five staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on the observation the center failed to dispose of diapers in a storage system that is either foot-operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hands nor the soiled diaper touches the exterior surface during disposal.
Evidence: Licensing Inspector observed a teacher in the toddler classroom doing a diaper change. The diapering pale was foot operable but had a child-proof lock on top preventing the trashcan from being foot operable during the diaper change.
Plan of Correction:
Administration will have a conversation with staff about making sure the diaper pale is unlocked before diaper changing begins. That way, the pale will be foot operable during the diapering process.
