Comments:
An unannounced code compliance inspection was conducted on 10/27/2022 from 9:45am to 11:30am. At the time of entrance, 72 children were in care with 15 staff members present. Children were observed doing the following: singing in the music room and playing with instruments, painting, playing outside, using toy hammers and hitting golf tees into the pumpkin, playing in centers, scooping out pumpkin seeds with spoons, playing with playdough, washing hands, eating snack, playing a pumpkin group game and singing a song and having a group discussion about their art projects in circle time. The site was clean and organized. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. A selection of staff and children records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Please contact me if you have any questions at Stacy.Doyle@doe.virginia.gov or 571-835-0386.
Based on review of staff records, the center did not obtain an updated Sworn Disclosure Statement from each employee every five years. Evidence: 1. Staff #2 and Staff #3 both had a Sworn Disclosure Statements dated 8/28/2017 in their files.
Plan of Correction:
I will have all staff sign a new Sworn Disclosure immediately.
