An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on September 16, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were 21 children present ranging in age from 18 months to 4 years. All staff have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training and are currently certified in first aid and CPR. Any children with diagnosed food allergies will need an Allergy Action Plan completed by the child's physician. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. The last lockdown drill to isolate children and staff from a security threat was conducted 8/22/2019. The last shelter in place drill to protect children from a natural or man made threat was conducted 8/22/2019 as well. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov or 804-662-9766.
