Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/18/19 from 10:25am - 11:40am. During the inspection there were 22 children ages two years old through five years old in care with five staff. Children were observed participating in various activities in the classrooms and playing outside. Records were reviewed for five children and five staff during the inspection. Medication,emergency procedures and emergency supplies were reviewed during the inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice and were discussed during the exit interview.
Based on interviews, it was determined that the licensee did not ensure that when food is brought from home it is labeled with the child's name and date.
Evidence: 1. The lunch boxes that the children used to bring snack were not labeled with the date. 2. Staff #1 (Program Director) acknowledged that the lunch boxes that the children used to bring snack were not labeled with the date.
Plan of Correction:
The facility responded: The labeled we currently have were falling off, so we are going to developed a laminated monthly card and attached it to each child's lunch box. The teachers will be able to mark each day on the card with a dry erase marker.
