Discussed with the Director the current COVID-19 guidelines and best practices that have been issued for childcare programs:
-Children ages two through four are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while indoors, especially if children are in close contact.
-Practice social distancing to the maximum extent while still allowing for the care and developmental needs of children. Staff need to be in close proximity to children when providing care; however, programs should keep children at least six feet apart from each other and limit physical proximity as best as they are able.
-Implement small group activities and encourage individual play/activities.

This investigation was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted on 1/27/2021 in response to a complaint received by the department on 1/21/2021 regarding allegations of lack of supervision and injury reporting. The Licensing Inspector completed a virtual observation of the program for 30 minutes and reviewed two staff records and other pertinent documentation submitted by the center. There was insufficient evidence to support the allegations of non-compliance with the standards and no violations were issued.
