Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/14/19 from 2:15pm - 3:10pm. During the inspection there were 34 children in care with one staff. Children were observed participating in various activities in the cafeteria, playing inside, and doing homework. Records were reviewed for five children while at the facility. The records for two staff were reviewed on 10/16/19 at the central office. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Based a review of five staff records, it was determined that the vendor did not ensure that all staff have a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff #1 did not contain documentation for a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care.
2. The record for staff #2 did not contain documentation for a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care.
3. Staff #3 reviewed the record for staff #1 and staff #2, and confirmed that there was not documentation to demonstrate that either staff had a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care.
