Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 4/27/2021 and concluded on 4/27/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 48 school age children present and 16 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standard or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Based on a review of staff records, the child day center did not obtain, prior to employment, a copy of the results of a criminal history record information check and sex offender registry check from any state in which the applicant has resided in the preceding five years. Evidence: Staff 2 (date of hire: 8/10/2020) indicated on the sworn disclosure statement that they had lived in Connecticut within the past five years. Staff 2's record did not contain documentation of a CT criminal history check and CT sex offender search results.
Plan of Correction:
Human Resources will send out the Connecticut criminal history check ASAP and will go online for the Sex Offender registry results.
