Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place on 03/14/2023 between the hours of approximately 2:25 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. There were 5 classrooms observed with a total of 59 children with 7 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed napping, waking from nap and preparing to go outside. Positive interaction between staff and children were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, and playground was conducted during this inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review and interview, the provider did not obtain a copy of the results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry for a caregiver from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence: 1. Staff #1 (employment date: 01/09/2023) resided in Maryland (MD) in the preceding five years. There was no documentation of a MD central registry finding on file. 2. Staff #1 resided in Washington D.C.in the preceding five years. Staff #4 stated that a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from Washington D.C. had not been requested. 3. Staff #1 did not have the results of a criminal history record information check from Washington D.C. on file. Staff #4 stated that a criminal history record information check from Washington D.C. had not been requested.
