Comments:
The inspector conducted an unannounced mandated renewal inspection from 4:20 until 6:15 p.m. There were 130 infants and children in care with staff supervising at all times. The owner/licensee and co-directors and kitchen staff were also present during the inspection. Infants were observed playing, being picked up by their parents and during nap time. Two parents were interviewed. Children were observed being read to, playing inside and outside, being comforted by staff, during snack time and being picked up by their parents. Ten children's records and and 10 staff records were reviewed. The playground was not inspected due to weather conditions. An acknowledgement form was signed by the owner/licensee at the time an exit interview was conducted. Please call your inspector at 276-698-9981 with any questions.

Description: Based on record review, the center did not have an up to date annual fire inspection report.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed the latest fire inspection report and it was dated 06/06/2018.

Plan of Correction: Staff called the fire inspector and the inspection was completed 12/12/2019.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J
Description: Based on observation, the center did not keep all medications in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. The inspector observed an epi-pen unlocked in a cabinet in the orange room It was in an upper cabinet shelf out of the reach of children but unlocked.

Plan of Correction: Staff will get a lock for the cabinet.
