Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/24/2024. There were 15 children, ages 3 years-5years and 5 staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. Medications for children were observed during the inspection. A total of 3 children?s records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed during center time and circle time. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 9:30am and departed the center at 10:07am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider
Based on the review of three medications, the center failed to ensure prescription and nonprescription medication shall be given to a child only with written authorization from a parent.
Evidence: The medications reviewed for Child 1 and Child 3 did not have written authorization from the parent on the day of the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
Provider will obtain written authorization for medication from the parent.
