Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 05/28/2020 and concluded on 06/03/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 0 children present and 1 staff as the center is currently closed due to pandemic. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
Based on record review it will be determined the center did not obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry maintained pursuant to ? 63.2-1515 and any child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years for any founded complaint of child abuse or neglect against him. Evidence: 1. The record for staff #1(hired 2/25/20) did not contain documentation of an out-of-state central registry search. Staff #1 resided in another state within the last five years. 2. The director confirmed that the center had not requested an out-of-state central registry search for staff #1.
Plan of Correction:
A Central Registry search will be requested from Florida for staff #1
