Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 9:00 am - 12:15 pm. There were twenty seven preschool children in care with three staff. The children were observed in group activities, during story time and during circle time. Five staff's records and five children's records were reviewed. Violations from the previous inspection were also reviewed and all had been corrected. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-1-b
Description: Based on interview, the center failed to have medication administration trained staff and emergency medicine is required to be at the center. Staff have not obtained retraining in medication administration.
Evidence:
1. The inspector interviewed staff #4 and staff #6 concerning emergency medication for child #6. Staff #6 said that currently there are no staff who have medication administration training.

Plan of Correction: A medication administration trainer will be contacted today and training will be scheduled for staff.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-4
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to maintain staff/children ratios.
Evidence;
1. The inspector observed the Jr. Kindergarten classrooms. In the classroom located to the right of the main entrance, there were eleven 4 and 5 year old children in care with one staff. The ratio for children 3 years to the age of school eligibility is one staff to 10 children.

Plan of Correction: Additional staff will be hired to maintain ratios in the classrooms.
