A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted from 11:30am-1:30pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 53 children and 9 staff. 14 of the school-age children were observed leaving to go on a field trip to I-Hop during the inspection. A sample of 6 children's records, 4 staff records, evacuation drills, emergency materials, the playground, and the physical plant were reviewed. The children were observed making arts and crafts, playing with a dollhouse, playing on the playground, eating lunch (grilled cheese, fresh fruit, salad, and milk), being fed bottles, and taking a nap.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
