Comments:
Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection took place between the hours of 9:05am-10:50am. There were 6 classrooms observed with a total of 69 children with 13 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed building with blocks, painting rainbows, playing with cars, playing on the playground and other organized activities. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, evacuation drill log and emergency materials were observed during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation, areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, were not maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence:
1. There was tan colored paint on the wall that was peeling by the bookshelf in the pre-K classroom.
2. The door leading into the School-Age classroom from the playground had large patches of white paint that was peeling.

Plan of Correction: We will have the areas sanded and painted or covered.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-520-A
Description: Based on a observation, over-the-counter skin products were used beyond the expiration date of the product.

Evidence:
1. In the infant classroom, Child #1's over-the-counter skin product (diaper cream) that was still being kept and used had expired on 3/2022.

Plan of Correction: We will send it home and ask the parents to bring a new one.
