This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 05/20/20 and concluded on 05/21/20. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present and no staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined one violation with applicable standards or law. A violation was issued.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on the review of two staff files, the facility failed to ensure that all staff have the required background checks. Evidence: There is no out-of-state central registry clearance on file for staff #1.
Plan of Correction:
The program manager reported that a background check was requested for the incorrect state. When the error was discovered, a central registry clearance for the correct state was been requested.
