This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated on January 8, 2021 and concluded on January 12, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection at 10:30 a.m. A virtual inspection was then conducted. There were 90 children present, ages 8 months through 11 years old under the care and supervision of 15 staff. Infants were observed being fed and having playtime on the floor. Older infants were observed preparing for lunch. Toddlers were observed playing a match game before lunch. Two year olds were observed during lunch. Three and four year olds were observed having playtime outside on the playground. Five year olds were observed finishing up a project. School age classes were observed during virtual learning at their invidividual areas that included P.E., various lessons and break. Lunch today was sweet and sour chicken with rice, peas, oranges and milk.The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed six children?s records and five staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Emergency drills were up to date and the weekly menu was reviewed.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
