Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on July 21, 2023 to determine the centers compliance with licensing standards. The inspection began at approximately 9:30am and concluded at 11:30am. There were 42 children present, ranging in ages from 11 months to 3 years, with 8 staff supervising. Children were observed participating in circle time, and various learning activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Transportation is not provided. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventive measure(s).

Based on observation, the center did not maintain areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside in a clean, safe, and operable condition. Evidence. 1. There were 3 tomato cages with sharp edges, stored on the playground accessible to children. 2. The administrator acknowledge that the tomato cages were improperly stored on the playground.

Description:
Based on a review of the medication being stored at the center, it was determined that the licensee did not ensure that when an authorization expires, the parent shall be notified that the medication needs to be picked up within 14 days or the parent must renew the authorization. Evidence: 1. The medication authorization for child #5 was expired, but the medication was still at the center. 2. The administrator confirmed that the medication for child #5 had been present in the center for more than 14 days since the expiration of the written authorization.
