Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 08/14/2023 and concluded on 08/14/2023 from 10:50 AM to 2:25 PM. There were 72 children present, ranging in ages from 8 weeks years to school age, with 13 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies. A total of five children?s records, the five staff?s records and one medication was reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on observation and interview, the center failed to ensure a prescription medication was maintained in the original labeled prescription box dispensed from the pharmacy.
Evidence:
1. Prescription medication for child 6 was not in the original labeled prescription box dispensed from the pharmacy. 2. The director stated they did not have the original prescription box.
Plan of Correction:
The medicine and inhaler was kept in an "Asthma Kid Care Go Bag" and the parents have been contacted and advised that we must have original labeled prescription box as well.
