Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:20am through 12:45pm. There were 28 children in care ages two through four years old with five teachers, and the program director. Children and staff records were reviewed. A walking of the building inside and playground outside was completed. Required postings, annual inspections, emergency evacuation drills, first aid kit and medication were reviewed. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including restroom routines, hand washing, lunch and learning and play activities. Violations regarding medication and background checks were identified. The violations were discussed with the program director at the conclusion of the inspection.
Based on observation the center failed to ensure that areas are maintained in safe condition. Evidence: 1 - There is an area of peeling paint within reach of children in the school age room. a. A child was observed in the classroom during the inspection. b. Staff 1 stated school age children would be present in the room later today.
