Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia A compliance inspection was initiated on 4/22/21 and concluded on 4/23/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 5 children and 2 staff present during the inspection. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of four staff records, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that all employees have a completed search of the central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: 1. The record for staff #1 did not contain documentation of a completed search of the central registry finding. 2. The record for staff #2 did not contain documentation of a completed search of the central registry finding. 3. The record for staff #3 did not contain documentation of a completed search of the central registry finding. 4. The record for staff #4 did not contain documentation of a completed search of the central registry finding. 5. Staff #4 (Program Director) reviewed the records for all four staff had been employed for more than 30 days and did onto have a search of the central registry finding available for viewing during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
The facility responded: We will have all four staff complete a new search of the central registry finding within 10 days. Once the results are received we will forward them to the Licensing Inspector.
