Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-1:00pm in response to a self reported concern regarding a child. There were 71 children directly supervised by 15 supervising staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 7 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, and policies were inspected. Children were observed being bottle fed, eating lunch, and participating in a story time activity. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. There were no findings regarding the self reported incident. Based on observation, areas of the center were not maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. Three sections of the vinyl baseboard was observed to be peeling or missing in the Pre K classroom. 2. Floor carpeting was observed to be frayed at the seam in the Junior Kindergarten classroom.
Plan of Correction:
Work order is in for both areas to be fixed. Temporarily covered by shelves and a rug until fixed.
