Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on March 3, 20210 and concluded on March 8, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 86 children present and 18 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on documentation review and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure a written allergy care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: The record or child #3 had documentation of a physician diagnosed food allergy (peanuts). There was not a allergy action plan written by a physician in the record.
Plan of Correction:
Child #3's mom will obtain an allergy action plan when she goes to the dr.
