Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was offered regarding medication authorization forms; out of state background checks for new employees; and COVID 19 guidance.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 5/10/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 15 children and 5 staff present. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 5 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. A virtual walk through of the facility was conducted to assess the care of children, and the indoor space used by the children. First aid supplies and medications were reviewed. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Based on records review, the center did not obtain subsequent Tuberculosis (TB) screenings for employee, every two years. Evidence: Staff # 1's most recent TB screening expired on 3/3/21. An updated TB screening was not obtained.
Plan of Correction:
An updated TB screening will be obtained.
