Technical Assistance:
Reviewed the proper way to document that each child's original proof of ID has been viewed by the provider.
Reviewed required spacing of at least 12 inches between occupied cribs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 5/4/2021. The Provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 6 children present, totaling 19 points, with 2 caregiver staff. The Inspector emailed the Provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 caregiver records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on observations during this virtual inspection, it was determined that the refrigerator temperature has not been maintained at or below 40 degrees. Evidence: The provider has a refrigerator in the child care area that is used to store the children's foods and drinks. The thermometer inside the refrigerator indicated a temperature of 50 degrees. The thermometer that is electronically connected to the refrigerator indicated a temperature of 53 degrees.
Plan of Correction:
We had just served lunch and had to open and close the refrigerator many times. I will turn the refrigerator temperature lower to make sure it stays cold enough.
