Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 11/10/2020 and concluded on 11/20/2020. The Director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were sixty nine children in six classroom groups. All supervision requirements were in compliance. The school is currently not offering extended day during this school year. Reviewed a sample of children's records, medication procedures, emergency preparation, two new staff records and training requirements (first aid/CPR/ MAT or EMAT, daily health observation and orientation. Four medications were reported to be on-site the day of the inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Description:
Based on record review, 1 of 2 staff members did not have the required background checks completed prior to hire. Evidence: Staff #1 was hired 8/2020 and did not have an out of state sex offender and criminal record check as required. The new background check requirements went into effect July 1, 2020.
