Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 1:55pm-3:45pm. There were 29 children directly supervised by 4 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, outdoor playground areas, programming, menus, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills, injury reports, and policies were inspected. Children were observed napping, washing hands, and eating snack which consisted of pretzels, goldfish, and apple juice. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials for the children. Based on observation of the physical plant, areas and equipment inside and outside the center have not been maintained in a clean and safe condition.
Evidence:
1. In the 2's class there were 3 spots of peeling paint on the walls.
2. On the playground there was a teal and white slide that had a visible crack on the side that posed a pinching hazard.
Plan of Correction:
We will remove the slide today and we will continue to fix the peeling paint.
