Technical Assistance:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services. Guidance, resources and training links can be found on the new website childcareva.com. The violations listed below reflect the new VDOE codes and standards.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documentation review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program
A code compliance inspection was conducted today. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 62 children present, ranging in ages from 3 to 5 years, with 11 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and medication. A total of 5 children?s records and 4 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on staff record review, one background check was not completed every five years. Evidence: Staff #2's most recent Central Registry search was completed in 2015.
