Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/13/2023 and concluded on 9/15/2023.There were 7 children present with 3 staff supervising. The children were observed during outside play time, bathroom breaks, and lunch time. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 10:25 am and concluded at 11:40 am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on record review and staff interview the center did not ensure to obtain a copy of the results of a criminal history record information check and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years. Evidence: The director confirmed that Staff #1?s first date of employment was 9-12-2022 and they had not obtained an out of state criminal record check for Texas or a search of the out of state child abuse and neglect registry for Texas and Colorado where they had lived within the last five years.
Plan of Correction:
HR manager will obtain out of state background checks in a timely manner and obtain a copy to be placed in staff's red folders for licensing reviews.
