A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on (date) and concluded on (date). There were 54 children present with 16 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on review of staff records the vendor failed to ensure within the first 90 days of employment that all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care staff. Evidence: 1. Staff # 1 (hire date 2/18/21) and staff #3 (hire date 12/7/20) did not complete the Virginia Preservice Training.
Plan of Correction:
The acting director will have all staff that do not have the Virginia Preservice Training to complete this training.

Description:
Based on review of staff files the vendor failed to ensure that all staff have current certification in first aid and CPR. Evidence: 1. Staff #2 has a first aid, CPR certification that expired 5/22/2019.
Plan of Correction:
The director will have staff attend training to update the first aid and CPR certificate.
