Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/10/23 from 9:35am to 10:35am with two substitute providers and one assistant. There were nine children in care, ranging in age from 11-months to five-years-old, for a total of 21 points. Children were observed singing and dancing and then going outside to play. Three child records, three caregiver records, one pet record, and one household member record were reviewed. The provider and two additional caregivers have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The caregivers reported there was no medication on site for children, but two caregivers have current certification in Medication Administration Training. Breakfast served was bagels, bananas, and milk. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
Please complete the "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" areas on the Violation Notice for each violation cited and return to me by close of business on 5/16/23. Plans of correction should include steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard, and measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again.
Based on review of caregiver and household member records, the provider did not obtain documentation of the results of a fingerprint-based national criminal record check every five years from the date of the last check. Evidence: The most recent fingerprint results on record for the Provider and for Household Member A were dated 5/7/18.
Plan of Correction:
Updated fingerprints have been scheduled. Moving forward I will make sure to schedule fingerprints prior to expiration.
