Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on May 13, 2020 and concluded on May 13, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 54 children present and 7 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review, the center did not ensure staff central registry results within 30 days of employment or volunteer service.
Evidence: Staff #1 hire date was 3/13/2020. The center did not have central registry results or documentation of follow up it has been more that 30 days since hire date.
Plan of Correction:
I will contact the Office of Background Investigations to check the status of the Staff?s CPS check. Depending on the information gathered, I will take the appropriate steps to get the results of the background check. Until we receive the background check, we will take the staff person off the schedule.
