Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 05/21/2020 and concluded on 05/21/2020. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 22 children present and 3 staff. The inspector emailed the in charge person a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on staff interview, the licensee did not ensure tables were sanitized before and after each use and cleaned at least daily.
Evidence: Staff #3 stated the center was using soap and water to sanitize the tables. Staff #3 confirmed the center was not using a disinfectant solution (i.e., bleach solution or commercial chemical disinfectant) or physical agent (e.g., heat).
Plan of Correction:
Approved sanitizing products will be order immediately.

Description:
Based on record review and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure all employees have background checks completed every 5years.
Evidence: Staff #3 most recent Sworn statement was 5/18/2015. Staff #3 confirmed there was not an updated sworn statement.
Plan of Correction:
New Sworn Statement will be filled out immediatley.
