Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on March 17, 2021 and concluded on March 18, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were twenty children present and two staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on review, facility did not ensure staff complete the department's health and safety update course.
Evidence: The following was found during record review: 1. The record for staff #1 had documentation of completing preservice training February 19, 2018 and the update training course had not been done. 2. The record for staff #2 had documentation of completing preservice training April 11, 2019 and the update training course had not been done.
Plan of Correction:
Staff will complete the preservice update training.
