There were two children present with one caregiver supervising, totaling four points. Children were observed in variety of activities including art activity with color dots and making wind chimes, eating lunch and indoor play. Caregiver interacted with children in a positive manner. Inspectors interacted with caregiver and children in care.
The inspectors reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, household members, caregiver training, physical equipment and environment, emergencies, nutrition, medication administration, care of children. A total of two child records, one caregiver record and one household member record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions, please contact the licensing inspector.

Lauren Bickford, Licensing Inspector Office of Child Care Health and Safety Division of Early Childhood Care and Education 540-280-0742 lauren.bickford@doe.virginia.gov
Description: Based on child record review, the provider failed to maintain up-to-date records for one of two children records.
Evidence: 1. Child #2 did not have an up-to-date parent medication authorization signed, giving authorization for provider to administer prescription medication. 2. Child #2 had prescribed medication on site to be given to the child when needed.
Plan of Correction:
1. Will give parent corrected form with most recent up-to-date information. 2. Will ensure correct handouts are passed to parents and reviewed before filing. 3. Will delete old files and be responsible for updating system.
