Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 10/16/2020 and concluded on 10/19/2020. The center supervisor was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 15 children present and 13 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on record review, lockdown procedures were not practiced annually.
Evidence: Documentation that a lockdown drill was practiced in 2019 was not available for review during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
A lockdown drill will be completed each calendar year.
