Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was initiated on 8/19/2020 and concluded on 8/20/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 64 children present with nine staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered during the inspection determined one violation with subsidy regulations that is documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
If you have further questions about this inspection please contact Donna Liberman at 540-359-5244 or Donna.Liberman@dss.virginia.gov.
Based on review of documentation, and an interview witht the director, lockdown procedures were not practiced annually. Evidence: the last documented lockdown drill was conducted: 7/19/2019.
Plan of Correction:
Will conduct a lockdown drill within the next 7 days.
