Technical Assistance:
Provided technical assistance on standard: 1) 60A: documentation of child updates and confirmation of up-to-date information as required in 420E (staff shall request at least annually parent confirmation that the required information in the child?s record is up to date. 2) 40 L and 40M: using similar terminology regarding "allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions" so all staff are clear about the differences; maintaining child-related documentation (allergy care plan) regarding the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction with the child at all times.
Comments:
An unannounced focused monitoring inspection was conducted from 1:00 - 4:00 pm with the center management. There were 65 children, ranging from two months to four years of age, present with nine staff supervising. Infant care was observed, and older children were observed napping. The written daily attendance, written allergy list, four medications and authorization forms, four child records, one new staff record and the medication log were all reviewed.
