Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/3/2022. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 1 year to 2 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-C
Description: Based upon review of the documentation of emergency drills and provider interview, the provider has not ensured that documentation is maintained of all emergency drills with the required information.
Evidence:
1. The provided documentation of emergency drills ended in December 2021. No drills have been documented in 2022.
2. The provider verified that the drills conducted since December 2021 have not been documented.

Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following:
The new emergency drill chart on the website will be printed and all evacuation and shelter in place drills will be documented.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based upon observation, the provider has not ensured that potentially poisonous substances are stored in areas inaccessible to children.
Evidence:
There was an aerosol container of Raid insect spray in the unlocked cabinet under the sink in the bathroom used by the children.

Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following:
The Raid was immediately moved to an area inaccessible to the children. All potentially poisonous substances will be kept in areas inaccessible to the children.
