Technical Assistance:
Discussed the requirements of The Governor's Executive Order 63 which requires all individuals age five and over to wear a face covering while inside.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/07/2021 and concluded on 04/12/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 5 children present with the provider. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 1 caregiver record and 2 children's records submitted by the provider to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider failed to ensure that furnishings of the family day home shall be maintained in a safe condition.

Evidence:
A flat screen television, that was placed on a television stand, had not been secured to prevent a toppling hazard.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she had purchased the tools & equipment to secure the television and that the television would be secured within the week.
