Technical Assistance:
Provided consultation on monitoring sleeping infants by in-person observation at least once every 15 minutes if a baby monitor is not being utilized.
Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 9:45 - 11:15 am with the provider. There were four children in care, ranging from 13 months to nine years of age, for a total of seven points. The children were observed watching an age appropriate television program/video and having free play. Four children's records and four caregiver/household member records were reviewed and in compliance. Childcare areas and supplies were observed. Required information was posted. The last fire drill was conducted: 7/9/2019 and the last shelter-in-place drill was conducted: 6/7/2019. The provider is not Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified and cannot administer medications to children in care. Based on observation, and an interview with the provider, the bathroom did not contain paper towels. Evidence: there were no paper towels in the bathroom.

Description:
Based on observation, a child under two years of age, has access to stairs. Evidence: there are two sets of stairs with six risers or more each, accessible to children in the day care area upstairs and a 13 month old child was present.

Description:
Based on observation, not all high chairs occupied by an infant were used according to the manufacturer's instructions with safety straps fastened. Evidence: an infant was placed in a high chair and safety straps were not used.
Plan of Correction:
Will use straps when putting the baby in the high chair.
