An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 3/27/24 from 12:45pm to 2:15pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Five staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training, Health & Safety Update training, and current certification in First Aid and CPR. There are children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies and their records were reviewed for allergy care plans. The last lockdown drill was documented on 10/4/23. Please complete the "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" areas on the Violation Notice for each violation cited and return to me by close of business on 4/9/24. Plans of correction should include steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard, and measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again.
Based on review of five staff records, the program did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children maintained current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Evidence: The CPR certification on record for Staff #2 was dated 1/9/22 and expired on 1/9/24.
Plan of Correction:
Staff #2 is scheduled to complete the CPR certification.
