A total of 3 child records and 1 Provider record were reviewed. The inspection started at 2:50 pm and concluded at 4:10 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-850-110-C
Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure that toxic household products are stored in a manner that they are inaccessible to the children in care.
Evidence:
The following cleaning and household products were observed in an unsecured cabinet under the bathroom sink in the restroom that children use while in care:
Bleach, disinfectant cleaner, non abrasive scrubbing detergent, hand sanitizer, liquid drain cleaner, carpet cleaning spray.
The following cleaning and household products were observed on an open shelf of a cart int the kitchen just off of the main living area where children are cared for:
Hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray, deodorizer spray.
All of the listed items contained warnings on the label to include "keep out of reach of children" and additional hazard warnings.
The provider acknowledged that these items were potentially hazardous and located in areas that children could reach.

Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she is able to carefully observe the children to ensure that they do not access these items while they are in care but that she would relocate these and any other hazardous substances to an area not physically accessible to the children in care.
