This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A code compliance inspection was initiated on February 22, 2021 and concluded on February 23, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 17 children present and five staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on record review, in one of three staff records reviewed, the center did not ensure that there each employee has central registry results by the end of their 30th day of employment.
Evidence: The director confirmed that there was no documentation of central registry results for Staff #1 (date of hire as verified by the director is October 2020).
Plan of Correction:
The request for Staff #1's CPS check has already been mailed off February 1, 2021. We're just waiting for the response.
