Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on May 16, 2022. There were two children present with one caregiver. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, and medication. A total of two children?s records and one caregiver record were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on observation, provider did not ensure criteria was met on the health and safety checklist regarding toxic household products being kept in areas inaccessible to children.
Evidence: Liquid bleach, bleach tablets and laundry detergents were stored on a floor rack by the washing/drying machines within reach of children in care. Bug spray was stored on the floor by the front door within reach of children in care. These items were labeled ?caution or warning? and ?keep out of reach of children?.
Plan of Correction:
Bleach and laundry detergents will be kept on top of the stackable washer and dryer that is out of reach of children. The bug spray will be kept out of reach of children as well.
