Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:35am-11:05am. There were 6 children (14 points) supervised by 1 direct care staff. The home, 1 staff record, 3 children?s records, 2 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed building with Legos, learning animal names and sounds, crawling through a play tunnel, and cleaning up. There was a sufficient amount of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Description:
Based on observation, areas and furnishing of the family day home were not maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence: The carpeted step by the front entrance of the daycare area had an area of ripped carpet, exposing the wooden foundation underneath.

I will fix it this weekend.
