Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the provider on January 10, 2022 beginning at 10:35 AM and ending at 11:55 AM. There were two children in the care of the provider during the inspection. The children's ages were 13 months and 4 years old for a total of 6 points. The children were observed interacting with the provider, practiced identifying letters and number, and playing with toys. Two children's records and three household records were reviewed. There were no medications on site to be reviewed. The emergency escape drill log was reviewed. The most recent emergency evacuation drill was documented as August 23, 2021. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as June 14, 2021. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio were reviewed and in compliance. If there are any questions regarding this inspection, contact Shawanda Henderson at 540-216-1434 or Shawanda.Henderson@doe.virginia.gov.
Based on a review of documentation, the provider did not ensure that emergency evacuation procedures were practiced monthly. Evidence: The most recent emergency evacuation drill was conducted on August 23, 2021.
Plan of Correction:
The provider will conduct emergency evacuation drills on monthly basis and make sure that they are documented.
