Comments:
A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted today to review supplemental health and safety requirements not covered in the licensing regulations. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date, and the two inspections combined cover all SHSI requirements. An area of non-compliance with the supplemental SHSI requirements were found. Based on records reviewed and interview conducted it was determined that a caregiver had no received orientation training in the following specific topics within 7-days of the date of employment: playground safety, responsibilities of reporting child abuse/neglect, confidentiality, supervision of children, arrival and dismissal procedures, medication procedures, the emergency preparedness plan, prevention of shake baby syndrome, coping with crying babies, prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, safe sleep practices, and prevent cross contamination of food, and food allergies. Evidence: There was no documentation that Assistant #2 was trained in these topics and the provider said that it had not been done.
