Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/6/22 from 11:15am to 12:15pm with the provider and one assistant. There were two children in care, ranging in age from 13-months to two-years-old, for a total of six points. Children were observed watching a television show, washing hands, having a snack of animal crackers and milk, washing hands again, and playing with legos and letter blocks while discussing words that started with those letters. Five child records and three caregiver records were reviewed. The provider and assistants have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not administer medication at this time and understands that they must obtain re-certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to administer medication. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
