Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 04/23/2024; a staff record review will be conducted on a later date. There were 48 children, ages 6 years-11 years, and a total of 7 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, programs, emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed arriving to the program following their school day, during welcoming activities, having an afternoon snack and during homework time. A total of 5 children?s records were reviewed. The inspector arrived to the center at 2:40 pm and departed at 3:50 pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that if hazardous substances are not kept in original containers, the substitute containers shall clearly indicate their contents and shall not resemble food or beverage containers.
Evidence: There were 3 clear plastic spray bottles, containing a liquid solution, that were not labeled to clearly indicate their contents stored in the large metal cabinet. Staff 1 confirmed that the spray bottles contained a soap and water solution.
Plan of Correction:
Will get those labeled today.
